Fred is widely known in the UK and Middle East amusement device industry and is the seventh generation of his family to work in this industry. Being both a former amusement device fabricator, and former UK amusement ride inspector, Fred thrives in an environment that is inspiring, interesting and stimulating. Proficient in working out and solving problems whilst under pressure and being able to work alone as well as being comfortable in working in a team Fred's 40 years of experience of working within the fairground/amusement industry brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to many areas of this business. As one of the two initial developers of the company, Fred's idea of introducing a third-party conformity assessment of persons were continuously submitted for evaluation by the likes of national policymakers, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), value chain actors and trade associations as the project moved further in its work both here in the UK and Middle East. This work took place over three years and has resulted in the scheme framework that ADISCC now offer – a blueprint of sustainability certification schemes for the amusement device industry.
George, a sixth and seventh generation travelling Showman from both his father's and mother's families started, like most working in this sector of the amusement device industry, with side stalls and round stalls before progressing to side shows and dark rides and onto larger amusement devices. Seeing this as 'serving his time' within this community George went onto building juvenile rides and kiosks in the 70's and 80's, while at the same time maintaining other showmans equipment and living vans. With this strong sense of tradition, 'hands on' knowledge and experience George's role within the company is to ensure future generations inherit a sustainable industry, but recognises at the same time that the success of this objective can only be built on trust. As Director of the various accredited ISO required committees for carrying out third-party assessments of persons George is conscious of the challenges ahead for this industry and has built a new framework with other members of the company to help create better documentation, standards and certifications that will allow for that trust to be built; ultimately benefiting all personnel that work within the industry.
